Translate Widget 2.0
Trevor notified me that his outstanding old translate widget is now version 2.0 so you can just plop it in your sidebar using your widget console in Wordpress.
It was smart to name it a “translate widget” because widgets are hot!

Wordpress Polls
Chan Hong Wei Lester makes a useful wordpress polls widget (note: it can also be inserted in your sidebar.php manually if you do not use widgets)
- Wordpress Polls – Adds an integrated poll system to Wordpress. See poll demo or view the easy installation instructions (use navbar on upper right for usage code).
File can be downloaded here.
Wordpress Polls can be edited in your Wordpress dashboard and comes with Timestamps, IP Logs, and Poll Answers. An archive link that vistors can click on and view gives this plugin even more flavor.

Translate Widget
Trevor from Trev’s Travels (one smart kid) made a cool Wordpress Translate Widget that you see displayed on the right side of this blog, it uses Google translate and is the first “widget” I have installed today.
This is great. I will have to put Trev’s Translate on my handful of blogs and welcome the world to join in the conversation. Thank you Trevor!

Wordpress Widgets
Here is a blog done by Automattic.com that makes an interesting wordpress plug-in for running widgets. They also have made Google Search and del.icio.us plugins as examples. Looks promising and there are already a good list of “widgets”.
To get the widget plugin working with custom templates simply follow the provided instruction in the readme.txt
