Hmm, I wonder why Michael Hampton had to shut commenting off on his WordPress.com blog if Akismet is so good?

    Ah oh! Interesting find. ;)

Just to put this in perspective, Michael created Bad Behavior, and worked on Akismet also, though the latter was a project initiated by Matt of Automattic.

Bad Behavior, btw, is all I use on my blogs, and before I installed it I was getting hundreds of spams a day. Now I’m down to a few, and the ones that do get through still go into moderation (some plugins shut down the ability to moderate.)

I have seen people use spam as an excuse and stop comments because they are either too busy or they do not want to deal with it, not saying this is the case but…

Very strange, for me it has been the other way around, I stopped using Bad behavior and now only use Askimet on a handful of blogs without issue?

You guys must get a lot of spam.

Yes, with the traffic I get, us “guys” get a lotta spam.
